The Selkirk Association of REALTORS® recognizes the importance of being involved politically in the local community and national as well as on the state level. Selkirk Association of REALTORS® members attend city council meetings, county commissioner meetings, building and planning department meetings, school district meetings, etc. These members know the value of being able to contact our local and state representatives, having their thoughts and opinions be heard and considered. Below is contact information for many government entities and individuals holding public office locally and statewide.

From the Nation Association of REALTORS® offices located steps away from the United States Capitol, NAR’s Government Affairs Division advocates for federal policy initiatives that strengthen the ability of Americans to own, buy and sell real property. The Selkirk Association of REALTORS® follows NAR’s initiatives on a local and state level. The Selkirk Association of REALTORS® is a leading force when protecting individual property rights, fighting policy and legislation that would be detrimental to the real estate industry and home ownership.

For decades, the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) has promoted the election of pro-REALTOR® candidates. REALTORS® raise and spend money to elect candidates who understand and support their interests. The money to accomplish this comes from voluntary contributions made by REALTORS®. An RPAC contribution is money given freely by REALTORS® in recognition of how important campaign fundraising is to the political process. RPAC doesn’t buy votes. RPAC enables REALTORS® to support candidates that support the issues that are important to their profession and livelihood.
