Eric Skinner, 2011 REALTOR® of the Year presents Julie Nolan with the 2014 REALTOR® of the Year award. Each year, the Selkirk Association of REALTORS® honors one of its members with the REALTOR® of the Year award based on that person’s involvement with the association and the community. This year’s recipient is Julie Nolan of Keller Williams Sandpoint.
Julie began her real estate Career in 2001 by Joining Prudential California Realty (still remains active). In 2007, Julie obtained her Idaho license and became an agent at Keller Williams Sandpoint.
“To me, being a REALTOR® is not about one transaction. It’s about building lasting client relationships through mutual respect, trust and communication,” says Julie. “I believe in the foundation to forming these long-term relationships is our Code of Ethics. These guiding principles are there for good reason and should not only be at the core of everything we do, but come naturally. They should also guide us in our everyday lives; not only as REALTORS®. Some of the most respected people I know, including my parents, have always said the best way to teach someone is to ‘lead by example’, and I strive to do that every day.”
Julie has been an outstanding volunteer for the Selkirk Association of REALTOR® for many years. She has served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer, serves as the MLS Roundtable and Tour Committee Chair, volunteers countless hours to the SAR Giving Tree program, was awarded the 2013 Outstanding Volunteer Award, is a food drive volunteer, participates in annual fundraisers for the Grants and Scholarships program, among other things.
Julie also volunteers for many community events as well. She is a board member and producer/director for the Sandpoint Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program, volunteers as kayak support for the swimmers of the annual Long Bridge Swim, participates in the Keller Williams community service event which is called “Red Day”, and volunteers for the Pend Oreille Arts Council.
Julie Nolan is an asset to the Selkirk Association of REALTORS® as well as the community and we are proud to honor her this year as the 2014 REALTOR® of the Year.

Carrie LaGrace and Carlene Peterson (both of Tomlinson Sothebys International Realty) were awarded the 2014 Outstanding Volunteers of the Year award.

Carrie, chair for the Community Service & Fundraising Committee, has been a driving force for all of the community service and fundraising projects sponsored by the Selkirk Association of REALTORS® in 2014. She is our resident “cheerleader!” and her efforts are appreciated. Carlene has volunteered for many years for all types of events held sponsored by the Selkirk Association of REALTORS®, in which she is usually the first to show up and one of the last to leave. The Association would like to honor these ladies and give them the credit they deserve.

Raphael Barta (Century 21 Riverstone), seen here with 2014 SAR President, Jim Haynes, and Stephanie Rief, Association Executive, is presented with a Certificate of Appreciation and Outstanding Service for 2014.

Raphael, who is currently the vice president of the Association, North District 12 Vice President, Government Affairs Committee Chair, and RPR “poster boy” for NAR, has been an integral part of the Selkirk Association of REALTORS®. His continued dedication to bring North Idaho to the forefront of the industry has not gone unnoticed.

Congratulations, Raphael and thank you for your dedication!
